This Fourth of July Holiday the volunteers at the Richardson Maritime Museum will open their doors to visitors between 10am – 2:30pm. Come by for a chat with volunteers Peter Zukoski and Jim Brighton who lead our effort at the Boatworks, including the recent restoration of the Skipjack Martha Lewis among other projects.

The Nathan, which was built at the head of Cambridge Creek, since has been operating pleasure and educational cruises throughout the season from Long Wharf in Cambridge.
The Nathan of Dorchester Skipjack Committee will lead the celebration on Thursday, July 4, at Long Wharf, 100 High Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities include a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 9:30 a.m. by David Rose at the War Memorial in Long Wharf Park, followed by the Skipjack Nathan program at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served. Also joining in the celebration will be traditionally rigged wooden boats from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter American Schooner Association, including three bugeye schooners, a yawl, a buy boat, and a pinky schooner.
